My name is Anthony Padilla, and my favorite activity in the world is the pursuit of knowledge, and expanding my education.I'm extremley passionate about learning, in any context. I belive to continue learning is to continue living, and I plan to live forever.
It's difficult to pin down exactly where I am, and where I'm going (uncertainty principle reference). Long term, my goal is to be an educator. Short-term, the goal is to gain the experience neccesary to be a great educator.
I'm a proud graduate of the University of California, Riverside. My technical backround is quite sparese, as I've been fortunate enough to have had experiences in multiple areas of Computer Science, such as Mobile Networks, Machine Learning, Graphics, Simulation, and Embedded Systems.
My Hobby is having hobbies.I've been into fragrances, biking, rock-climbing, card collecting, thrifting, recently added sewing and working with clay. The ones that have stood the test of time are reading, consuming lots of media, and running ( I also love my concerts ).
The hardest part about having many hobbies is the amount of time you spend as a beginner. Learning something new requires you to start from square one, each and every time. But over time, you get comfortable being uncomfortable, and being a beginner becomes a hobby in and of itself.
I have a backlog of hobbies, including fishing, 3D modeling, and learning how to play guitar. Of course, each and every skill I want to learn takes an immense amount of time, but time will pass anyways.
I recieved my degree's from the University of California, Riverside from the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College Of Engineering (BCOE). Go Highlanders !
I was awarded my Masters through the BS+MS program at BCOE. I graduated through the Project Capstone option.
I completed my undergraduate education at UCR. Originally I was a different major, but prior to my first term I decided to change my major to Computer Science. A wonderful decision.
I decided to purse a Minor in Mathematics rather late into my undergrad education. I made the decision after enjoying MATH031 - Intro To Linear Algebra.
I was fortunate enough to TA for the course CS111- Discrete Structures. A class I myself struggled with during my undergrad, I had a wonderful experience teaching students and leading discussions. My responsibilites included:
I had experience proctoring Quizzes and Exams in the BCOE Testing Center. Responsibilites included the punctual and proper delivery of exams, as well as preventing academic dishonesty.
As an Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA), I would hold multiple sessions of supplementary office hours for Computer Science courses. I was the head learning assistant for CS111 - Discrete Structures. I'd typically host 16 - 20 hours per week.
I worked as a student IT Technician for Bear Help at UCR. Job duties included assisting in account recovery, authentication assistance, and troubleshooting for Students, Staff, and Faculty. Towards the end of my time at Bear Help my responsiblities grew, which included imaging of University devices, and assisting in equipment installation.
I've also had interesting 'minimum-wage' jobs. One contributed to a caffeine fixation (not addiction). Out of desire for privacy, but to show I've built some character, I'll quickly mention them.
